Driver TipTo get the most out of your tee shots, each player must understand your own physical capabilities and keep your swing within these limits. Swinging beyond individual limits causes a loss of balance and resulting lesser distance and worst of all loss of accuracy. The best understanding a golfer can begin with is what a good golf swing entails and try to get as close to that swing position as physically possible. The proper body position includes a 90 degree turn of the shoulders and a 45 degree turn in the hips. This sounds easy but many older and less flexible people cannot do this. Every golfer must understand their physical limitations and try to be consistent in their body position. Learn this position to get into it for every shot try and not to over swing to gain distance. Getting the proper shaft in your driver will help make up for some limitation in flexibility. Beginning the downswing from your top position by rotating the lower body and not sliding is a critical start of your tee shot. You must understand this and not compensate by starting your swing with your hands. This merely causes a spinning move and subsequently transfers that spin to your ball in the form of a very weak slicing motion. Hitting the driver or any club consistently boils down to strength in your stomach, lower back and legs not in your arms. If you wish to rapidly improve your game of golf, you need to consider stretching and exercising to develop these parts of your golf body. Evolving your physical capabilities and working to begin your swing with a rotation and not a slide will make you more consistent and longer off the tee. |
