Sand Tip
Green side bunker play can be as hard as you want to make it. Ordinary shots from the sand involve more technique and execution is definitely different from chipping. You need to visualize sliding the club under the ball and don’t try to lift the ball. First, set up with an open stance to the left of the target (for right handers) and the club face open. Your swing should be more straight up then down through the shot with a full follow through. This motion causes the ball to pop out of the sand and land softly on the green. It takes a little practice but it will save many strokes and a lot of embarrassment.
